it’s not a competition, i know, but this video of george shelley talking about how anxious and paranoid he became from being closeted, and how much it fucked with his head knowing that someone could out his sexuality and worrying about what that would mean for his band is quite honestly fucked up. he did it for four years, which is four years too long, but harry and louis (and others) have been doing it for twice that time now. it makes you wonder just how many demons the boys have battled in the last 8 years and how hard they’re still fighting just bc we live in a heteronormative world where gay men are sold as products to young, presumably straight girls
